Amanda Louise Macchia est une vidéaste d’origine italo-canadienne. Installée à Paris, elle a étudié, en marge de ses activités artistiques, l’histoire de la mode et de la photographie au PCA (Paris College of Arts).
Née à Toronto, Amanda a commencé par réaliser des documentaires, où elle s’intéressait notamment à la contre-culture et à ses manifestations. Puis, elle a rejoint New-York, pour se reconvertir pas à pas et pénétrer l’univers de la mode. Forte de ses premiers succès, elle décide de se lancer en Europe, et rejoint Paris.
Dans la capitale, elle multiplie les contrats, et travaille par exemple pour de prestigieuses marques comme Givenchy ou Louboutin. Peu à peu reconnue comme une artiste-réalisatrice, Amanda s’est enracinée, et marque aujourd’hui de son empreinte de nombreuses campagnes commerciales (Vogue, Lacoste..). Tout récemment, elle a signé un partenariat avec une célèbre agence de mode, Storm Prod.
En plus de ses réalisations, Amanda cultive depuis l’adolescence un goût prononcé pour la musique. Il y a des années de cela, elle a commencé – par hasard et par curiosité- à mixer. Depuis, elle partage avec un public enthousiaste son goût pour la disco italienne, dont elle veut préserver l’âme. Justement, elle compte se rendre, au cours des prochains mois, dans le sud de l’Italie pour -apprendre de ses pairs, et remonter à la source des mélodies qui l’ont toujours accompagnée. Enfin, elle est aussi sur le point d’aller à Palma, en Espagne, pour tourner un documentaire autour de la chanson « Yes Sir I can boogie », composée par le mythique duo espagnol, les Baccara.
Artiste polymorphe, tantôt réalisatrice, tantôt DJ, Amanda Louise Macchia a su tracer sa voie et imposer son style, pour s’affirmer aujourd’hui comme, pour reprendre la formule d’un confrère italien, une artiste au mille visages.

Amanda Louise Macchia is an Italian-Canadian video artist. Based in Paris, alongside her artistic activities she followed a « MA fashion film and photography » at the PCA (Paris College of Arts).
Amanda was born in Toronto and started out making documentaries, focusing on counterculture and its cultural production. Then she moved to New York, gradually transitioning into the world of fashion. On the strength of her initial success, she decided to branch out into Europe and moved to Paris. She expanded her network there, working for prestigious brands such as Givenchy or Louboutin. Increasingly recognized as an artist-director, Amanda has put down roots here and is now making her mark on many commercial campaigns (Vogue, Lacoste...). Most recently, she has signed with well-known production company, Storm Prod.
Another of Amanda's interests is the passion she has had for music since her teenage years. She started mixing years ago, by chance and out of curiosity. Since then, she has shared her desire to preserve the spirit of her favourite Italian disco music with an enthusiastic audience. In the next few months, she plans to travel to southern Italy to learn from her fellow enthusiasts and go back to the source of the melodies that have been with her throughout. Finally, she is also about to go to Palma, Spain, to shoot a documentary about the song 'Yes Sir, I can boogie', composed by the legendary Spanish duo, Baccara.
A polymorphous artist/director/DJ, Amanda Louise Macchia has been able to carve out her own path and get her style noticed, so that she is now known, to use an Italian colleague’s expression, as an artist with a thousand faces.
